Artist in Training
Today I discovered markers. I made some colorings that would make Jackson Pollock jealous. I also discovered that I make a good canvas. Instead of coloring on paper, I colored on myself!

Running away to Join the Circus
Today I decided to pack up some important stuff in a bag, and I said goodbye to my parents as I headed to the door. Some of the things in my bag were a little ball that my mom knitted for me, a red feather, a lid to a bottle, and some parts to my car seat. I selected these items carefully as I walked around the house with my bag. I then walked toward the door and said "Bye bye!" while waving to my parents, who were laughing hysterically.

Sunday Dinner
On Sunday, I went with my parents and second cousin to my friend Nora's house for dinner. This is her account of what happened:
Baby Anja was cute. I can't believe just the last time we had dinner at your (Emily and Sohee's) house, she was walking on her knees. This time, she wanted to go outside all the time, and she went running up and down the alley laughing her head off. I guess she likes to be out all the time. After she ate, she brought us all our shoes - well, she only brought me one shoe. She brought Gabe the wrong shoes, she brought him Chieni's shoes, and when he told her that, she started crying. Don't disrupt my view of the universe with your damn logic! Then she brought the car keys. (I don't know why. But when I took her out in front later, she brought the keys, went up to their car, and tried opening it up.) She was following my cats, who wisely ran away any time she came near, and she wanted to go up to all the house doors. I guess she does not realize that going up to my door is "special" because her parents actually know me. So since there were less people around than usually when we see her, she actually did more talking than we usually hear. She said 'baby' for all the stuffed animals I gave her, 'bebe' for berries, and 'mau'for cat every time she saw my cats. She said 'pick me up' but that was in Chinese, so I can't verify that she said it correctly. Oh, and she sang 'row row row your boat" (but only the 'row row' part. So her version goes 'row row row row row row') Oh, and she told me 'buh-bye' when she left just like a stewardess.

Bye bye!
I love going out! I now bring my shoes to my mom or dad and ask them to put them on for me. Then I bring them their shoes and make them put their shoes on. After that I go to the door and either sign "More" or say, "Bye bye!" Yesterday, I picked up my backpack and headed for the door. I am a party girl!

Chatty Chatty
I am talking up a storm now. I said "grapes", "berries", "bubbles", and "pretty pretty" today.

Happy Camper!

This weekend I went camping for the first time. It was fun getting so dirty and running around in an enormous tent. I learned how to use a fork to eat dirt. I liked saying "berries" and picking huckleberries myself. The pictures show how I loved getting in and out of the tent, doing "downward-facing dog", and eating watermelon!

Happy 14th Month Birthday to Me!
Today I am 14 months old, corrected age. I have been saying "No!" a lot, which means I am well on my way to being two years old! Today, I was holding my drink container and rocking it. Then I said "Baby." This means I am starting to use pretend play!
Happy Fourth of July!
Yesterday, we celebrated our patriotism by going to a park and watching dogs run around, going down a slide, and pushing me on a swing. Then we had a BBQ and slept through the fireworks.
I started signing "shoes" even though I already can say it both in English and Chinese. I really like going outside now that the weather is beautiful. I keep going to the door and patting it, asking my parents to let me out. I also bring my parents' shoes to them, help them put it on, then go to the door and sign "more"! I've got places to go!

Happy 15th Month Birthday to Me!
Yesterday I turned 15 months old. I started staying words like "shoes", "sit", and "no"! I also discovered that I have pretty sophisticated taste. It turns out that I love Brie!
