Horchata!

Today our playgroup went to a Mexican street stall – sort of like the taco trucks you see all around Seattle. We bought burritos, quesadillas, and most importantly, horchatas. Then we went to a playground and played while the moms ate the dinners and tried to entice the kids to eat something. Then we had mango shaved ice for dinner. It was really really yummy!

My New Best Friend!

I have a new best friend. Her name is Jaylene but I call her Jayneen. I keep asking to play with her or to see videos of us playing together. I like following her around because she is six years old and can do so many more things than me. Here are some pictures of us together.

Sock and Sandals

Even though I live in Taipei now, I've still kept my Pacific Northwest fashion sense. I'm a socks and sandals kind of gal. Washington Mutual, I'll be in your next commercial!

Good Night Moon!

My parents have been reading Good Night Moon to me every night for years (well, for as long as I can remember in my two years of life). I can now recite the whole book along with my parents when they read it before I go to bed. Some things I like to point out are the giraffe shelf on the "Good night moon" page, and the bowl of "rice" on the page that says, "A comb, a brush and a bowl full of mush". I also like to say, "Good night air" but it sounds more like "Good night ayo".

I can also now sing "Rockabye Baby" but my version sounds more like this:

"Rock baby in treetop,
when wind blow, baby rock,
when... break... baby fall,
and down... baby and all!"

My First Leech!

We went to a BBQ on Saturday. I got to play in a kiddie pool to cool off from the heat here and wear my favorite bikini. After swimming, when I was changing back into my dress, my dad found a squiggly black worm stuck to my toes. The adults started screaming, "Leech!" Then my mom poured some salt on my foot and the worm fell off. I was very brave because I didn't cry at all. It's amazing the kind of wildlife we find here in the city of Taipei!

My New Cousin!!

I have a cousin now! His name is Ryan. Sigh, I will no longer have my Ahma's devotion since I now have to share some of the attention with Ryan....
