Where's Mao?
We got back from Europe three days ago, and I am trying to catch up on doing cute things around the house! When we got home, one of the first things I did was take our cat Mercy's bag of food out of the cupboard and walk around the house saying "mao" (the Chinese word for "cat"), looking for Mercy! Then my dad told me that we were going to go pick up Mercy at my grandfather's house, so I went downstairs and picked up one of Mercy's toys and took it with me, and then I gave it to her when we got there! Now I am very happy that Mercy is back, and when she comes to her food bowl I get out her food and try to feed her!

Blanket
I love my blanket. I drag it around with me the way Linus does on Peanuts. I also never go to sleep without it. My blanket is special because my mom's friend Jacqueline made it just for me. I call it "geket" because I can't say "blanket" very well. I made up a song about my beloved blanket recently and it sounds something like this: "Geket, gegeket. Geket, gegeket."
Rule Britannia!
I have had an eventful week here in Cambridge! On Tuesday, I went swimming with my mom at Parkside pool, then went out for dinner to a posh restaurant called Bruno's. On Wednesday, we had tea and scones at the Orchard, now a Cambridge tradition. Writers my mom likes (Virginia Woolf, Bertrand Russell, Rupert Brooke) used to come here and have tea and intellectual thoughts. We were there with my mom's friends and seven other kids. It was a bit crazy, but we all played nicely together. On Thursday, I went to a barbecue next to the river Cam and watched other people punting on the river. That morning I played on Parker's Piece, a giant green field in the middle of the city. This was when I discovered how filthy the place was. I kept picking up cigarette butts, bottle caps, and various bits of other trash. On Friday, I went to Newmarket to see the horse races and a band called Wet Wet Wet. It was a lovely evening out with Aunt Cathy and her family and friends. We had a nice picnic while watching the horses zoom past. We then watched a Punch and Judy show and then had a spin in the bouncy castle. When the band came on, I just danced and danced and ran and ran to the music. Today, we went to Bury St. Edmonds and checked out the market square, then the Abbey gardens. There were lots of ducks for me to chase. After that, we had Chinese take away at Aunt Selin's house where I thought I was in heaven because they had a room filled just with toys. Tomorrow, we're off to Bavaria to visit more friends. Boy, I am a baby globetrotter!

God Save the Queen!
I am in Cambridge, England right now enjoying the sunshine. I was a star baby on the flight here from Seattle. All of the flight attendants said so! I just slept, played, ate, and slept some more! We are renting a little apartment here in Cambridge and can walk everywhere. I am excited about walking because I love to go out and walk everywhere!

One... Two!
I can now count to two. Today I surprised my parents by saying "Two!" after my mom said "One." They didn't realize that I knew some numbers. I now know the numbers "one", "two", "five", "six", and "eight".

Dance Dance Baby!
I love to dance! I invented my own version of a stomping river dance with circles and figure eights, and I finish the number with a grand drunken fall on the floor.
Happy 15th Month Birthday to Me!
Today I turned 15 months old, corrected age. I am now dancing, running, climbing, and chatting. I can put together two-word sentences like "My mama!" and "More bubble!" I am pretty amazing! I went to the zoo today and saw a sloth bear. I called it a dog and made barking noises when I saw it.

Happy 16th Month Birthday To Me!
Today I turned 16 months old! I am a very big girl. I can now reach the door handles and try to open doors. I like saying "no, no, no", and I discovered today that I really like polenta and black olives. It was a very good day.
