Rule Britannia!

I have had an eventful week here in Cambridge! On Tuesday, I went swimming with my mom at Parkside pool, then went out for dinner to a posh restaurant called Bruno's. On Wednesday, we had tea and scones at the Orchard, now a Cambridge tradition. Writers my mom likes (Virginia Woolf, Bertrand Russell, Rupert Brooke) used to come here and have tea and intellectual thoughts. We were there with my mom's friends and seven other kids. It was a bit crazy, but we all played nicely together. On Thursday, I went to a barbecue next to the river Cam and watched other people punting on the river. That morning I played on Parker's Piece, a giant green field in the middle of the city. This was when I discovered how filthy the place was. I kept picking up cigarette butts, bottle caps, and various bits of other trash. On Friday, I went to Newmarket to see the horse races and a band called Wet Wet Wet. It was a lovely evening out with Aunt Cathy and her family and friends. We had a nice picnic while watching the horses zoom past. We then watched a Punch and Judy show and then had a spin in the bouncy castle. When the band came on, I just danced and danced and ran and ran to the music. Today, we went to Bury St. Edmonds and checked out the market square, then the Abbey gardens. There were lots of ducks for me to chase. After that, we had Chinese take away at Aunt Selin's house where I thought I was in heaven because they had a room filled just with toys. Tomorrow, we're off to Bavaria to visit more friends. Boy, I am a baby globetrotter!
