Strawberry Fields Forever!

Today I went strawberry and raspberry picking with my mom and lots of aunties. They were responsible for picking the berries while I was responsible for acting cute and eating as fast as they were picking. I got lots of strawberry stains on my face! As the last picture shows, I was also fascinated by the goats.

Humpty Dumpty

Check out this picture of my cute pig tails.

I really like this nursery rhyme. In fact, I now pick up the book of nursery rhymes, turn it to the page with Humpty Dumpty, hand it to my parents and sign "more". I do this repeatedly throughout the day. I even can recite parts of the rhyme, especially the part where Humpty Dumpty falls. I also try to fall when we get to that part in the rhyme.

Juice!

Today, I said, "Juice!" I now have about 30 words and signs. And, I am pretty much potty-trained. I am a baby genius!

As the picture shows, I like eating yogurt now. On the yogurt container there is a picture of a little girl who looks a lot like my friend Emma. I like to point to it and say, "Memma!"

I went to the zoo today and saw penguins, wolves, sea otters, a bear and tigers. I was amazing today because I was out all day without a diaper and I stayed dry all day. I was able to tell my parents when I needed to go potty . I am a big girl!

Music!

I am now singing a lot. I even like to use hand motions like opening and closing my hands to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or make my fingers go Itsy Bitsy Spider. I clap my hands at the right parts to the Open Shut Them song and generally dance to all music I hear – even the theme song to All Things Considered on NPR.

Anja Loves Disco!

Today I went to Baby Loves Disco again! It was fun because my friend Emma (two years old), Nina (five months old), and Javier (14 months old) were there. I danced to songs like "I will Survive" and "Blister in the Sun". I love to dance!

My Friend Memma

My friend Emma is two and a half years old. I call her Memma. I also point out pictures of little girls and call them Memma. We have a lot of fun together. Today we went to the Pike Place Market and chased pigeons around a park. My mom calls it "homeless park" but we still had fun. I had my first major fall and skinned my knuckles. I got a lot of kisses from my great grandmother and grandmother for my cuts.

Happy Anniversary!

These pictures show four generations of our family together, and me and my great grandmother.

My parents got married seven years ago today. We celebrated by going to a park and playing on a swing. I didn't want to leave. Then we went to Ballard Locks with my grandmother, my great grandmother, great aunt, great uncle, uncle, aunt and my parents. I liked looking at all the fish that were swimming up the fish ladder. Then we had dinner and as usual, I got everyone's attention by doing cute things. It was a great way to celebrate my parents' marriage!

Happy 13th Month Birthday to Me!

Hooray for summer! The first two pictures show me playing in my pool, and the third picture shows me camping in the backyard.

Today I turned 13th months corrected age. I have been walking and talking a lot. Basically, I've been a baby genius.

Today my mom took me swimming for the first time. I wasn't too sure about it at first but then my friend Imogen and her mom came so then I had a great time. We went up and down a slide, splashing into the pool.

On Sunday, my mom took out a little tub and filled it with water so I had a pool to play in the backyard. I immediately filled the tub with leaves, grass, and dirt and made a compost soup. It's fun to get dirty!

Happy 14th Month Birthday to Me!

I am officially 14 months although if you adjust for my early entrance to the world, I am still only 12 months old until June 5th. I have been practicing walking with my parents and that has helped to build my confidence. They like to laugh that I look like a drunken sailor.

My grandmother (Ahma) is in town from Taiwan so she has been fixing lots of belly-filling foods for me. She is lucky I like to eat!
